Harrison, Re-reeving a halyard can be a bit tricky with the stick up. You need a bosun who is not afraid of heel. I have 2 tricks: 1. use a bright yellow string line like for bricklaying or such, tie a length of bicycle chain on the end. I use about 18" of chain. it will roll in over the sheeve...

John, you should be running at max headstay length as in the rules (on the Class site), but the stock 7.9 headsail is tacked at the deck level (on the little horns of the stem fitting. your roller furling effectively raises the tack point a ways. best way to fix it is to raise a 100' measuring tape ...

We put a Bowmar 966 on Hot Tamale 2 seasons ago. works fine, no leaks, flexes slightly when I step on it (at 15 stone), but our lightweight bowperson has not had that experience.

i use 5/16" NER Endura Braid that has a high tech core and dacron cover. this year I will strip about 25' of the cover back. i have been practicing my mid-line cover bury and am ready for the big-time.
