Re: GENOA LEAD CARS/SLIDES

Captn, The OEM is the Schaefer Genoa Twin Sheet Lead car. They run about $185 at Jamestown Dist. The issue is the track thickness size, if you have the 1" (25mm) track they will need to be filed out a bit since they are 3mm depth and the old track is just a bit thicker. From a quick search of t...

Re: Roller Furling Headsails

Norm,
Yes, We are in Fleet#1 and enjoy having 9-10 boats for our Weds night series. Fleet captain this year is Scott Derby (#538). Schnell was in the fleet in the 80's, but Hot Tamale (#477) came in '94, so i don't remember the boat.

Re: Roller Furling Headsails

Norm, I don't see anything in the rules that prohibits a rollerfurling headsail. It would be treated as a headfoil for measurement purposes and the rule 2.5.B.1 states "2.5.B.1. Maximum width for headfoil extrusions is .125 feet, (1 1/2 inches)." I think this would be the radius of the rol...

Re: Torpedo

Mookie, Good question. My first impression is that yes, they are class legal. you might have to carry more ballast as the weight of your motor is figured into your racing weight. The Class Rules do say in section 2.9 "8) an operable engine (minimum 4.5 hp. SAE standard)," I think we should...

Re: Dagger Board Trailing Edge Repair

I agree with Mark. My electrician friend has a man-lift/cherry picker that we used to pick the board out. We brought it over to a really good fiberglass guy along with the spec template. Very pleased with the result.

Re: Forestay and Dimension"I"

Norm,
I is the vertical height from the deck to the top of the headstay. The headstay length is the diagonal length from the bow to the top of the headstay. For the S2 7.9 the two numbers you have are correct.
Thanks,
