Re: Where are all the boats

Chris,
did you use the data at: http://www.s279.org/membership/ownersdisp.php? That is the owners registry that I try to keep up to date. I haven' done any analysis on it, yet.
Thanks,

Re: Bottom job.

Larry, We have a friend who is an electrical contractor and has all kind of nifty equipment. The one we use is a 'cherry picker' man lift. We can roll it up to the boat on the trailer, pull the board, turn and set it on a pallet or something. It does take about a case of Founder's All Day IPA to get...

Re: What is your preferred tiller design?

I have seen long and short wood laminate tillers, aluminum tillers, straight and curved wood tillers. The one on 457 was too long by about 5 inches. I think the best look is the straight one with a taper into the handle. It also works better with the Tiller Autopilot. My woodworking friend has made ...

No worries, Chris. We appreciate all content.
I haven't measured it, but I think you will approach 30' since we have 25'11" on deck.
Cheers!

Re: Mast Storage Horizontal on Boat

We have a 'Jack Pole' for Hot Tamale (#477). It is 2 pieces of galvanized pipe, one slides inside the other. On the top of the inner pole is a U-bracket with a bow-roller in it. There are holes in the inner pipe at various points so we can lengthen (raise) the pole for mast set-up/take-down. The are...

Re: Can someone post a picture of their cascaded backstay?

Uphill, I have some good spectra backstay info on the Hot Tamale Racing website: http://hottamaleracing.com/ . It is on the Links page once you enter the site. The file has old prices, but the diagram might be what you looking for. The Class approved the change to a High-tech backstay and most all r...

Re: Front Hatch Advice?

AJ,
We replaced with a Bowmar on Hot Tamale (#477). Had to adjust the OEM hole just a bit. No problems except that it seems a little flexible under my 200lbs. Well, I'm off the foredeck now...

Re: stock trailer weight

Gales, we have a wobbly wheel trailer for Hot Tamale that puts her well off the ground. the base of the hull is 14" off the axles! we measure in at 10'10" and we can slide here in the 11' opening overhead door on the barn by coaxing her carefully in and pushing the door 'way open'. just a ...

We have only one set of Genny sheets. Did you mean Spinny sheets? we carry a 1/4" set with lightweight plastic clips for when the breeze drops below 3 knots.
