Re: Annapolis NOOD Regatta

Sadly, Peregrine will not be attending this year, so our streak of consecutive Annapolis NOODs will end at 9. Fully expect to be back next year though. I do love the regatta, the venue, the timing , and of course the crabs!

Re: ruddr box spacers

Stef,
I will buy a pair of spacers too. I love the cheek plates I got from you so I know the work will be solid.

Shoot me an email at 'bart dot welden at gmail dot com'. There is a Chesapeake S2 7.9 Google group, and through that I have heard from all other bo...

Re: MAST SECURING WHILE TRAILERING

See attached (if I can attach a photo). The support in the back attaches just like the rudder, angle iron with holes attached to the 2X6 work great. The middle support goes in the mast step. The one on the front rests on the bow pulpit. Ratchet tie-downs attached to the toe rail secure the mast. Shr...

2014 Annapolis NOODs - May 2-4

Annapolis is next up on the 2014 S2 7.9 calendar. 6 boats are already registered as of March 26 so we have an official class, but it would be great to have even more! Re: Rudder, breaking prevention

This is the first time I have seen the inside of an S2 rudder, so I assumed the aluminum tube was standard and provided the primary structural strength. Based on Larry and Steve's comments this is not standard? The tube is filled with the same material that surrounds the foam core. There is nothing ...

Re: Rudder, breaking prevention

Attached is a picture of my rudder after breaking. Mine broke at the bottom of the cheekplates, presumably due to excessive pressure in big chop plus 30 years of age. This picture give a great cross-section view of the inside of the rudder.

Re: Need New Rudder

Thanks Frank and Larry for the info, very helpful indeed. When my rudder snapped the other night I had visions of being a rudderless ship for an extended period of time, but now I know I will be back in action soon. And Larry, I can confirm that it is no fun to lose a rudder, especially in big wind ...

Need New Rudder

The rudder snapped on Peregrine, #395 last night. Anyone know where I can get a replacement, new or used? The pintles/gudgeons/cheekplates/tiller are all fine, just the rudder itself broke.

Thanks,

Re: 2013 Annapolis NOOD

Annapolis S2 Fleet: The Friday night cocktail party is on! Last year people seemed to want to go out to a restaurant for dinner even though we offered the cookout, so this year we will just do after dinner drinks. Please stop by between 8 and 11 Friday night for some drinks and to share war stories ...

Looks like 9 boats is the final tally for the S2 fleet.
Please confirm if you and your crew intend to show up at the class party Friday night, as we need to know people to expect to feed. Did we mention, FREE COOKOUT?

Hope to see y'all there!
