Auto Bilge Pump position and routing

If you wet slip your boat, do you use an automatic bilge pump? If so, what make and model do you recommend, where do you position it and where do you route it to?
Thanks,

Re: Rudder Gudgeon Bushings

I just posted a photo. Perhaps try saving as a smaller file size? I used the smallest option on the iPhone. Hopefully you'll get a better response with a photo. Good luck.

Rudder Position

Does this rudder look properly positioned vertically or should it be angled more forward? I can grind more glass off of the front of the head.

Stern Rail Retrofit

How will adding an aftermarket stern rail effect the ability to legally race in class regattas?

Hotels along I-95

I'm looking for places along the entire length of I-95 that will accommodate a trailered S2 7.9 for an overnight stay. I have found a few hotels close to Walmart parking lots. Hopefully, they still allow large overnight parking in their lots. Any suggestions?

Re: Chainplate Covers

Thanks Stef. I purchased a raw #316 Stainless bar from a local metal shop and made a new chain plate. Total cost was $35

Re: Chainplate Covers

I think the cover does nothing more than hold the sealant. We had hull 264 (I think) that had the same setup, cover welded to chain plate. I thought it was kind of strange. You would need to remove the entire bar in order to re-seal. Boat was purchased from Boston's in Sarnia, so they may know more...

Could you expand a bit on why it would be better to cut the slot first, on the end of a bar?

Sid #415
This would allow more material to hold on to while cutting the slot which comes in handy, especially if performing the slot cut with drill motors and hand-held tools

Re: Chainplate Covers

Chainplate cover is what I'm looking for. I just made a new port chainplate for under $30 because the previous owner had the chainplate cover welded to the chainplate  I would rather not fabricate the chainplate cover due to the small slot that needs to be milled or cut. A good fabrication ap...

Re: Chainplate misalignment with thru deck or just the way i

Thanks for the feedback. I drilled out the existing location... the through deck position was the original location. It makes sense that the sink tab is aft of what the original location called for in the design. I could: 1) put it back the way it was, which will add stress to the chainplate where i...

Re: Chainplate misalignment with thru deck or just the way i

I checked this on another s279 and saw the same result. Interesting how the chain plate is not directly aligned with the through deck opening when it is mounted into position, forward the sink.

Re: Powder Coating Spars, Any Luck?

Thanks guys. painting the spars it is. I do have access to a 30' oven near my work in st. pete. I need to coat the toe rail before I install it. It sounds like powder coating the toe rail is still a good option due to all the holes and wear/ tear with metal to metal contact, right?

Chainplate misalignment with thru deck or just the way it is

I removed the port chainplate, glassed & resigned the through deck opening, re-opened it to the original opening (so I thought) and noticed the chainplate was not aligning with the through deck. It is quite far off. I failed to notice the chainplate under aft side load during disassembly. Is thi...

Re: Powder Coating Spars, Any Luck?

Hey Stef, Did you just move the 1 to make 146?
What other challenges do you see with powder coating besides trying to find an oven large enough?
